A major exhibition entitled Wild and Majestic: Romantic Visions of Scotland will examine how Scotland gained its reputation as a land of wilderness, heroism and history.

Gaelic language and culture feature throughout the exhibition, with the main narrative presented in both English and Gaelic.

The event will also feature a partnership on Gaelic content between National Museums Scotland and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.  

Experts from Sabhal Mòr Ostaig have also assisted on the panel texts which will be presented in both English and Gaelic.

A shop in the Carbost area has been extensively damaged following a break-in.

Police say entry was forced to the shop at some point between 5:30pm on Tuesday 21 May and 9:20am on Wednesday 22 May.

'Significant staffing issues' could result in Sleat Surgery having no reception cover on Fridays after 3pm.

NHS Highland Practice Manager, Liz Dobson, noted that there currently are issues with both GP cover and admin staff.  

This is likely to result in there being no reception cover after 3pm at Sleat Surgery on a Friday.
