A Donation Day for refugee camps will be held in Portree later this month.

The event is organised by SleatFugees, who are looking for donations of winter clothing for adults and children, shoes, school stationary and craft items, blankets, new underwear, baby items, Moses baskets and prams, nappies, as well as tents and camping equipment.

They have asked that all items are clean and of the same quality found in a UK charity shop.

An update on harbour upgrades will be held this month in Uig, Tarbert and Lochmaddy.

The events will update the communities on the Skye Triangle Infrastructure Programme.

The Skye Triangle Infrastructure programme involves significant upgrades to the ports at Uig, Tarbert and Lochmaddy to modernise harbour facilities in preparation for new vessels.

Work is already underway at Tarbert Ferry Terminal following the award of a £14.3 million contract to civil engineering and building contractor, RJ McLeod Limited.

Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) is working in partnership with Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar to deliver the works at Lochmaddy.

Two prominent Gàidhealtachd festivals have joined forces for 2019 to bring the best in Scottish traditional music to venues on the Isle of Skye.

The 2019 Blas Festival has teamed up with the SEALL Festival of Small Halls to deliver two concerts in Kyleakin and Edinbane, each featuring world-class performances by the royalty of Scottish music.

This year’s SEALL Festival of Small Halls takes place between 22 and 30 November and features eight musicians who will lead a series of concerts, cèilidhs, sessions, school and public workshops in small rural venues with an emphasis on community, culture and celebration.
