Love whisky?  Interested in the ancient craft of distilling?

Then Raasay Distillery Open Day is just your cup of tea (or glass of malt!)

The open day will discuss the 2018 barley trail on Raasay and will also involve mashing the malted barley from the trial growing last year.

Raasay Distillers will be creating the first 100% Isle of Raasay single malt, made using water from a well on site, Raasay-grown barley and malted with local peat.  Three speakers will discuss the project - and the event will include a visit to the field to see the growing trials, as well as a trip to the distillery to see last year's barley mashed.

The Barley Open Day will take place on Thursday 2 August with a programme as follows:

12pm-1pm: Presentations in the Gathering Room:
1pm-1.30pm: Barley Field Visit
1.30pm-2pm: Lunch & Refreshments available to purchase in the Gathering Room
2pm-3pm: Raasay Barley Mashing
