The man who discovered a meteorite strike on Skye will be giving a talk about his findings later this month.
Dr Simon Drake of Birkbeck College discovered evidence of the meteorite with his colleague, Dr Andrew Beard.
Dr Drake said: "I hope this will be enjoyable for everyone and will assume no prior geological knowledge."
He continued: "I hope to bring 20 plus students from Birkbeck College."
Entry to the talk will be free - however Dr Drake suggests that anyone who attends makes a £5 donation to Skye Mountain Rescue.
Dr Drake told The Skye Times: "Skye has always been close to my heart.
"I think the Mountain Rescue is incredibly important.
"It sounds really cheesy, but I've had so many great times on Skye. It's my favourite place geologically in the world and if I can help and get the Mountain Rescue some money, it's brilliant."
The talk will take place on Thursday 29 March at 8pm at the FIngal Centre, Portree High School.
