Dunvegan Castle are already looking to make changes to help cater for the expected high visitor numbers in 2017.

A planning application has been submitted to Highland Council for the erection of a replacement store room to the gable of the castle restaurant to cater for the increased needs of the facility .

Other plans put forward this week include:

Proposals is to upgrade and extend 2 existing self catering units, (named Glamaig and Marsco), located within a group of self-catering units owned by the applicant at Sligachan.

The creation of a new access road to the Kyleakin Quarry .

An extension to the south gable of the existing dwelling at  8 Upper Feorlig, Dunvegan, to create living & dining areas 

The Bank Of Scotland in  Somerled Square, Portree, want to erecet three box signs for advertising.
