Key players in Skye's tourism future are to meet to discuss priorities for the island.

Organisations such as Destination Skye and Lochalsh, Highland Council, VistScotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, The Scottish Tourism Alliance and Business Gateway are all expected to be part of the gathering due to take place on Tuesday 13 December in Portree

Announcing the meeting to its members Destination Skye and Lochalsh say: "After a long summer and record visitor numbers the directors are meeting with key stakeholders in Portree on Tuesday 13th December, hosted by Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

"The principal aim of the session is to map out a strategic action plan which can be taken forward and which has clear activities, outputs and benefits for the tourism sector on Skye.

"It is hoped that early in the New Year we can share an update on the meeting for both DSL members and all those involved in tourism in Skye and Lochalsh."
