Road to close for repairs

Travel around Sleat could be disrupted for some over the coming week with a planned road closure to carry out essential repairs.

A culvert on the Ord road between the A851 and Ord has been in danger of collapse for some time and Highland Council are now planning to carry out work from Monday 21 November to early afternoon on Friday 25 November.

A temporary closure notice has been made to close to vehicular traffic a length of the C1242 Teangue – Ord- Tarskavaig – Ostaig Road between Teangue and Ord from its junction with the A851 Broadfiord to Armadale road, extending in a westerly direction to a cattle fgrid 850 metres east of the Ord River bridge.

Council officials say an alternative route is available via the C1242 accessed at its junction with the A851 at Ostaig.
