The Gaelic Books Council, an association with Book Trust of Scotland, is seeking two writers to participate in the New Writers Awards scheme 2017.

The 2017 Awards are open to Gaelic writers of many genres on the condition that they are based in Scotland and have not previously had a book published.

New writers will be awarded a grant of £2,000 each, as well as receiving professional support to develop their writing.  This support will include mentoring from experts, training in PR and presentation, and the opportunity to participate in a special presentation.  They will also be able to enjoy a week-long retreat at Cove Park.

Applications must be received by Friday November 18 2016 at 5pm.
