The second phase of the £1.25m improvements to Skye’s A87 are underway
Work on a section of road through Ard Dorch. will see 10 nights of resurfacing through until October 14 involving around 1.5km of carriageway.
Due to the nature of the resurfacing works, an overnight road closure will be in place each night from 7pm-7am to carry out the resurfacing safely. Measures will be in place to allow local access and other traffic to pass through the closure approximately every hour or when it is safe to do so.
The resurfacing works are planned to take place Monday nights to Saturday mornings, avoiding working Saturday and Sunday nights.
As previously reported in the Skye Times the four projects will involve resurfacing at three locations on the island with essential maintenance works to replace drainage pipes beneath the Skye Bridge.
