Kyle lifeboat found itself called out in rough conditions once again yesterday after concerns for a person stuck on a small boat in Glenelg Bay.

The crew were paged at 6:20pm at the Request of Stornoway Coastguard, and launched just seven minutes later making best speed in poor conditions to arrive at the scene by 6:40pm.

They quickly found the male, who was unable to get off the small vessel due to the very high winds and large swell. They transferred hime onboard the lifeboat and headed for the jetty in Glenelg. However due to the conditions and debris in the water, the lifeboat was unable to get alongside and it was decided to transfer the gentleman to the Glenelg Ferry slipway.
