Young – and old - story tellers on Skye have a chance to give their imaginative writings a real airing.

For through High Life Highland who have have teamed up with Moray Firth Radio there’s achance to ender  a ‘Spooky Story’ Halloween writing competition.

The story can be about anything, but the spookier the better. The story should be 250 words or less and must be submitted on the official form to your local library. The closing date for entries is the 18th of October 2016 and the winning story will be read out on MFR on Halloween.

There are 4 categories, and the winner of each category will receive a £25 book voucher and be entered into a grand final to win an iPad Air 2!

The categories are:

•             Young  (7 and under)
•             Junior  (8-12)
•             Teen     (13 – 17)
•             Adult – (18 and over)


This competition is open to those living within the North of Scotland, with a postcode beginning IV, KW, PH or AB. All entries must be accompanied by the writer’s full name, age, postal address and phone number. Entries will be judged by a panel selected by MFR.
