Skye-based textile artist, Louise White, will be one of over 60 artists appearing at the Colony Of Artists festival. The festival, which lasts from 17 September - 18 September, will celebrate the talents of painters, photographers, musicians and be held in 38 venues.
2016 marks the festival's 11th year. Run by volunteers, the community organisation serves as a platform for artists who live in or have a connection to the Abbeyhill Colonies to exhibit their work.
Louise, who moved from Edinburgh to Skye in 2012, works with the iconic Harris Tweed to create bags, scarves, brooches and bespoke Harris Tweed skirts. Working with Harris Tweed - a material of beauty and history - prompted Louise to start her own business, Lou Lou Designs. Her pop-up shop is based in Carbostmore, where she is surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Cuillins and the soft murmur of the nearby loch.
Louise will be exhibiting at 43 Carlyle Place. during the Colony of Artists festival on 17 September - 18 September from 12pm - 6pm.
