Skye and Lochalsh CVO are hosting a community transport event to give communities, transport providers and groups an opportunity to look at the role electric vehicles can have in our future transport requirements as well as other community transport initiatives.

The event, Electric Cars and Transport Projects takes place on Thursday 22 September from 2pm-4pm and will be held at the Bridge Road office in Portree

Brought to in partnership with Specialist Transport Advisor Becky Fretwell on behalf of Energy Saving Trust and Kirsty MacColl from the Scottish Islands Federation, this event includes an opportunity to test drive electric vehicles and talk to SLCVO about support and funding for community transport projects and groups.

A spokesperson said: “If you are a user of community transport we want to hear your views - what you need, when you use it, how it could be better.

“This is a starting point, SLCVO hope to build on this event to bring together community transport providers to work together to better support our local community.”
