Locals relying on the Ord road in Sleat are being warned about serious repairs that will close down the route for several days.

Sleat Community Trust are alerting those living in the Ord, Tokavaig, Tarskavaig and Achnacloich communities to be aware of the problem which involves a culvert on the Ord road between the A851 and Ord being in danger of collapse.

Highland Council is carrying out some temporary repairs with steel plates but it will require a road closure to facilitate the permanent repair.

As soon as a closure date is known the Sleat Community Council will relay the information although the expectation is that the closure will be for at least three days and possibly more.
