The A82 has now re-opened after two separate road accidents involving motorcycles.

The first occurred around 11.15am and closed the road south of Drumnadrochit following a motorcycle and car collision earlier today

The male motorcyclist was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital by the UK Coastguard helicopter. His injuries, at the time, were said to be life threatening.

Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "When firefighters arrived they discovered the motorcyclist had ended up down an embankment. Using ropes and utilising their working at height skills the crews reached the casualty and extricated them to safety.

"Police, Ambulance and the Stornoway Coastguard helicopter were also present. The motorcyclist was placed in the care of the coastguard helicopter crew before being airlifted to hospital.

"Crews made the scene safe and assisted with the clean-up operation. The last appliance left the scene at 1.37pm."

The second accident closed the A82 just south of Invermoriston following a single motorcyle RTC.
