An ocean-inspired tribute to the North Coast 500 route could be utilised for Scotland's islands.
Developed by West Coast Waters, a route to encourage visitors to visit the islands is just one idea for promote marine tourism.
Keynote speaker, Carron Tobin, attended the SkyeConnect Autumn Conference yesterday (Monday 16 November) to discuss the West Coast Waters initiative for 2020.
West Coast Waters is a collaboration of all west coast DMOs and tourism organisations, collectively representing over 2,500 tourism interests across the west coast of Scotland.
Carron revealed that, along with CalMac, the possibility is being developed of a dedicate island route. This would differ from CalMac's hopscotch scheme in that visitors would only have to purchase one ticket.
The trail could also have a theme, such as a whisky experience.
