Plockton's Harbour Road will be closed today (Tuesday 12 November) between 10am and 2pm.
The closure will allow the SSEN to install a new overhead electricity line.
Power to a number of local properties will be turned off between 10am and 2pm. However, power to the village hall will remain on.
All of the affected properties were advised of the temporary interruption to their power supply by letter last week, and SSEN also held a public information session to ensure that as many people as possible were aware of this essential work ahead of its start date.
A spokesperson from SSEN told Skye Times Online: "We'd like to thank local residents and businesses for their patience as our teams go about this essential work which, when completed, will help to ensure a more robust and resilient electricity supply to Plockton and minimise the risk of power cuts."
