A search took place last night (Tuesday 5 November) after a female walker had become disorientated near Kyleakin.

She had spent the day walking around the coast from Kylerhea to Kyleakin, but had been caught out when darkness fall.

Kyle RNLI were paged at 6:20pm after the UK Coastguard received a call from the female.

The RNLI began searching the area around Loch na Beiste, but could see no sign of the walker.  After they began searching the shoreline to the east, they managed to get in touch with her via telephone.

She was located uninjured close to the Lochalsh fish farm and then transferred to the pier in Kyleakin.
