Repair works are currently underway at the Kilt Rock car park - but has met with an unexpected set back.
The initial work began on Monday 16 September and was expected to take five working days.
However, a Highland Council spokesperson told Skye Times Online that “there has been an unforeseen delay associated with machinery which is currently awaiting repair.
“For public safety the Car Park has been closed to all traffic other than site works traffic however pedestrian access is being maintained.
“Advance signage has been erected on both approach roads advising motorists that Kilt Rock Car Park is closed to allow essential Maintenance Works
“Works to involve tar planings are being carried out where the verge has been damaged. Road and road edge repairs are being made as necessary with hot tar. This will result in improved levels of parking and access to the area.
“Police no parking cones are expected to be installed on the A855 approach roads to the site today. Motorists are reminded that obstruction of a public road is a Police matter.”
