Portree RNLI were called to assist ambulance personnel after a medical emergency on Raasay.

As if to emphasis the need for nursing cover on the island, as reported in the Skye Times, the lifeboat crew launched shortly after 6.30pm last night (August 24) in order to transport Scottish Ambulance Service staff to the island to attend to the call. It was 8.30pm before the boat was back to base and made ready for the next shout.
