Supporters of the campaign to bring scheduled air flights back to Skye – or even those just interested – are invited along to a new photo exhibition next week.

Flyskye, the independent campaign group with the single objective of seeing the re-introduction of air links to the island from the Central Belt of Scotland, is hopeful that the event, “The Value of Small Airports”, will add further momentum to their cause.

The exhibition is being split over two sites. From Monday 29 august – Wednesday 31 August it will be held at Broadford Village Hall. Then it will move to Portree Community Library from Thursday, 1st September to Saturday, 3rd September.

A spokesperson said: “Please come along to share your memories of using the Broadford airfield in the 1970s and 1980s, and to let us know what impact its closure had on your own life and on the wider community.”
