A pipe band from Tasmania will join the Isle of Skye Pipe Band for a very special performance on Friday (2 August.)
The St Andrews Caledonian Pipe Band will be making their third trip to Scotland and their first to Skye since 2005.
Pipe Major, Dr John Ralph, stated: "We performed in Somerled Square with Isle of Skye Pipe Band and followed it up with a great night at the Royal Hotel.
"This time around, its a new generation of players, some who have never been to Scotland before, so we've set an ambitious performance schedule to show them as much of Scotland as possible.
"We're also collaborating with 12 pipe bands around Scotland and having our first performance in Skye - the home of the Macrimmons - is the perfect way to start the tour."
Accompanying the band will be four Highland Dancers, also from Tasmania.
The band will perform with the Isle of Skye Pipe Band in Somerled Square on Friday August 2 at 8.00pm.
After Portree, St Andrews Caledonian Pipe Band performs at the Carnival in Stornoway, before touring Scotland ahead of competing at the World Pipe Band Championships on Glasgow Green on August 17.
