The Quiraing road is currently closed while resurfacing work is ongoing.
It is anticipated that work, which is being carried out on the road, laybys and car park entrance, will be completed early on Monday 29 July.
The road and car park will be open this evening (Friday 26 July) and all weekend, but will be closed during the day on Monday.
A Highland Council spokesperson told Skye Times Online: "Works at the Quiraing car park are being funded by The Highland Council and the Scottish Government Rural Payment and Inspection Directorate with an investment of around £200,000 to support the local Skye tourism infrastructure.
"The road is currently closed to allow resurfacing of the road, layby parking areas and car park entrance. Highland Council also had to do an emergency culvert replacement on the road on Tuesday 23rd July following the rains on Monday evening (22 July).
"Throughout the works the Council has done everything possible to avoid closing the road. This included the contractor undertaking nightshift for around 4 weeks to ensure the road could be left open during the day.
"Unfortunately, there is no way of undertaking the surfacing without the road being closed during the working day. In the evenings, the road is opened and access is available to the new car park."
