Concerns have been raised over flooding at Portree taxi rank.

Drainage repairs are needed in order to prevent overflowing.

The image above was posted to a local Facebook group, highlighting the problem.

Group member, Carole Horton, commented: "It may not seem much of a big deal to some, but when your nearest post box is right there and you are disabled, its not much fun trying to navigate an ankle deep flood when you get out of your car.

"It's a disgrace that this hasn't been dealt with."

Skye Times Online was also told: "We can only get two cars in at a time.

"There are at least 10 taxis in the village.

"Where do we go?

"Do we double up at the rank?

"Little chance of buses getting past if we do!

"I really feel Skye is being hugely overlooked."

A Highland Council spokesman told Skye Times Online: "All of our available resources are currently undertaking resurfacing or pothole repairs.

"Officers have been made aware of the issue within the last few weeks and it has been has been added to a programme of drainage repairs to commence as resources become available."
