The Trotternish Ridge is set to be transformed next week and this time it has got nothing to do with the weather.
Instead movie magic comes to the popular Skye landscape with filming due to take place on Monday and Tuesday (Aug 22 and 23) as yet another Hollywood blockbuster is set in the island scenery.
This time it will be the action packed “Transformers: The Last Knight” which is being filmed, the fifth in the series.
Highland Council have exempted land from the access rights which would otherwise be exercisable between 6am and 10.30am on both days.
According to the Council: “The purposes for which the Order is made are in the interests of members of the public and safety/security of cast, crew, horses and equipment on set during filming and preparations for filming.”
The Order affects land at The Old Man of Storr, Storr Forestry Plantation, The Quiraing south of the Staff - Uig Hillroad to Bealach nan Coisichean.
The new big screen filming is just the latest of a series of movies which have used the Trotternish which continues to attract attention from film producers.
