The Isle of Skye has the most expensive accommodation in the UK, according to a survey by Cheaprooms.co.uk.
The survey compared hotel rates for April 2019 across 100 popular UK destinations and established an average rate for the most affordable double room in a centrally-located hotel or guest house.
Skye topped the rankings with an average rate of £121 per night for the cheapest room.
St Andrews emerged as the runner up with rates of £117 per night.
In London, travellers will need to fork out an average of £103 for the cheapest available hotel room. Significantly more affordable, however, is the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, which ranks as the 18th most expensive destination in the UK, with average rates of £72 per night.
The following table shows the 10 priciest destinations in the UK during spring 2019. The rates shown alongside each destination reflect the average price for the cheapest available double room (in a minimum three-star hotel or guest house) throughout the month of April.
