A multi-agency rescue was launched to assist a man who had fallen at the Quiraing.

Skye Mountain Rescue, the police and coastguard were all involved in the rescue, which took place on Saturday 29 December.

The casualty had sustained a serious lower leg injury after his fall and was transported by helicopter to Stornoway Airport and by ambulance to the Western Isles Hospital.

Skye Mountain Rescue Team said: "We're fast approaching the fiftieth shout of the year, which will make 2018 one of the busiest to date for the team."
