Champions of local food will be recognised in new awards.
Launched by the Skye and Lochalsh, the awards aim to recognise local businesses that buy from local producers.
Judges include Isle of Skye Fresh Produce founder, Roger Whiddon; Skye Vegetables founder, Anthony Hovey; Skye Free Range founder, Glenys Maclean; the Managing Director of Isle of Skye Distillers Ltd, Alistair Wilson; the Vice Chairperson of the Skye and Lochalsh Micro Abattoir Project, Rachael Jackson and Nanette Muir of the Isle of Skye Sea Salt Company.
At the time of writing, there are already almost 200 nominations. Nominations can be made here and will close on 22 December. Finalists will be announced on 1 January, with the award ceremony to follow on 27 February.
The awards event will take place at Sligachan Hotel from 12:30pm until 3pm, with drinks and canapes served at the start, followed by the awards presentation from 1:15pm until 2pm. Tickets can be booked here.
