A brand new festival is coming to Skye in 2020.

The Skye Mountain Festival will feature films, outdoor activities, art, photography, wildlife and competitions.

The venture comes from co-organisers, Adrian Trendall and Andrew Dobb.

Adrian told Skye Times Online: "There are a lot of famous, long established mountain festivals such as Kendal, Llanberis and on an international scale, Banf.  Shefield has it’s Adventure Film Festival. Skye has arguably the most alpinesque mountains in the UK and will provide a special venue for a mountain festival, not just films but a whole lot more."

Films will be shown during the days and evenings of the two-day-long festival.

Adrian continued: "The hope is that it will be an all encompassing festival where people can come and join in activities, attend talks or courses, get involved with litter picks, competitions, socialise, see films, take in Skye’s incredible landscapes, walk in the mountains and shares some adventures."

The festival will be held on Friday 20 - Saturday 21 March 2020.
