Dulse & Brose at The Bosville has been awarded a prestigious Good Food Award for 2019.

The restaurant at 9-11 Bosville Terrace, Portree, was established more than three years ago.

The Good Food Awards say that: “Over the last twelve months we have evaluated customer feedback and these premises have demonstrated exceptional levels of food quality, service and value when compared to our industry benchmarks in their category.

“In recognition of this achievement they have been duly awarded the 2019 Good Food Award.”

There are only a handful of awards for the North of Scotland including one for the renowned North Harbour Bistro in Scalpay.

The Good Food Awards started in 2002 and their awards programme has gone from very humble beginnings to the great success it is today.

“Some premises will appear in our awards programme regularly but they must earn their place every year by maintaining the same high standards that gained them initial entry into the Good Food Awards.

“The Good Food Awards are compiled, scored and written each year so there are always new entries and deletions.

“We base them on: tasty Delicious Dishes, Ranking amongst competitors, Consistent positive customer feedback and a Great Food Hygiene Score.

Business owners can register their interest to be included and readers can also make nominations too.

The rules are strict. In 2016, for example, some 76,631 establishments were ineligible to enter the awards programme based on their Food Hygiene rating alone.
