Portree RNLI are hoping local folk will swing into action to help them carry on their life-saving work.
Later this month the crew are holding their annual Open Day and in advance are hoping to get some voluntary donations.
On their Facebook page they say: We are very grateful and often touched by your messages of support throughout the year when the pagers go off. Amazingly we are still able to do what we do thanks to being entirely funded by voluntary donations from the public.
On this occasion the "call for assistance" comes from the crew and our excellent fundraising team as we plan our annual fundraising Open Day at the end of August.
We will have the usual stalls on the day and any bottles, baking or items for the raffle or auction will greatly assist in raising as much as possible towards the increasing running costs of the lifeboat and crew training.”
To give a donation, follow the link here or pop in to the lifeboat crew room in Portree.
