A plaque at the Fairy Glen has been removed.

Created by Pauline Jewett from Invergordon, the plaque reminded visitors not to move or stack stones.

Sylvia Porter, manager of Staffin, Isle of Skye, Facebook page, told The Skye Times: "[The plaque] was erected onto a wooden plinth and cemented in the ground just below Castle Ewan on October 5."

When Sylvia visited the Fairy Glen on Sunday 14 October, the plaque was removed from the plinth.

Stone piling has attracted multiple debates, with many environmental experts siding against the trend, while others see it as harmless.
