A new record was set today (Saturday 11 August) at the Skye Bridge 10k.

The race was won by Jenny Bannerman, who beat a previous record set 16 years ago by Anne MacPhail.

Jenny won the race in 35 minutes and 55 seconds, beating Anne's time of 36 minutes 23 seconds.

Jenny, of Inverness Harriers, took an early lead and maintained it during the race.

In second place was Ally Sutherland, of the Inveruie Elite Running Club with his time of 38 minutes and 51 seconds.

Taking third place was James MacInnes with a time of 40 minutes and 44 seconds.

The Skye Bridge 10k formed part of the Kyleakin Gala.

The community event saw performances from the pipe band, as well as axe-throwing, darts, a coconut shy, bouncy castles and Bodyzorb.
