A 15-mile-long walk in the south of Skye will be undertaken to raise money for MND Scotland.

Rhona Campbell will walk from Torabhaig Distillery to Sabhal Mor Ostaig to raise money for the charity.  She stated: "I feel motivated to do this because MND Scotland is a most worthy cause.  It provides care, information and research-funding for all people affected by MND living in Scotland.  I'm sure many of you know or have known family and/or friends affected by this illness. Personally, a friend of mine here on Skye, Kathryn Cameron has recently been diagnosed with MND."

Kathryn is hoping to attend the walk in her wheelchair at a point near Ord.  Kathryn told The Skye Times: "Some other friends from a different walking group are going to make a picnic/BBQ for anyone who arrives at Ord too and will be putting a bucket there for any cash donations."

The walk will take place on Sunday 5 August.

Rhona continued: "I'd be so grateful for your support towards this walk. All donations, big or small, whatever is appropriate, gratefully appreciated. Many thanks. Mòran taing."

Rhona's JustGiving page can be found here.
