A 28-year old from Portree is well on his way to establishing a career at sea by graduating from City of Glasgow College’s Nautical Faculty.

Jake Napoli took the HNC Marine Engineering – Cadetship Route course, and recently praised the support offered by the teaching staff at the award-winning Riverside Campus on the banks of the Clyde.

The course involved working with cutting-edge technology, including the ship simulators and fully working engine room and the chance to sail up the Norwegian Fjords.

Commenting, Jake Napoli, said: “I am enjoying being back in college, but I’m especially looking forward to graduating as it is a big milestone for me. Studying at City of Glasgow College’s Nautical Faculty has been a brilliant educational experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an extraordinary career. My classes were full of good people and there’s nobody that I don’t feel I couldn’t turn to for help. Right now, I’m looking forward to graduating, going on to study further, and then getting out to sea.”

Jake will be part of the graduation ceremony that takes place at Riverside Campus.
