The skye times mobile

Blazing sun and clear blue skies set the tone for the weather at Struan Gala on Saturday 30 June.

The community event featured something for everyone - including bouncy castles, Drakes of Hazard, football, vintage cars and tractors and axe throwing.

The Drakes of Hazard duck display featured two-year old Indian Runner ducks performing through various obstacles.  From bridges, to tunnels, to helter-skelters, the ducks took everything in their stride.  Owned by Mark Wylie, the ducks and collie, Flash, travelled all the way from Luss to attend the Gala.

The Gala also featured the usual competitions, including the Glamorous Granny, Bonny Baby, Knobbly Knee and Gala Queen.

The winners are as follows:

Bonny Baby - Ruby Connell
Glamorous Gran - Lisa Madigan
Gala Queen - Inga Bonk
Best fancy dress - Julia Rudram as Zorro
Knobbly knees - Tony Emerson

ACE Target Sports provided entertainment in the form of axe-throwing.  Based at Struan Road and owned by Matt Harrison, ACE Target Sports also offers archery and air soft.
