Would you leave your wedding dress in a peat bog? Well that’s what’s happened on Skye.

Now Orbost local Rachael Jackson is trying to reunite the gown with its true owner after she discovered it in the Dunvegan area.

On Facebook Rachael wrote: “: "FOUND!!!! A complete wedding dress left on the side of the road UNDER A ROCK!!!!! I have bought it home out of the rain to prevent damage, but also was concerned the sheep might take up residence in the netting as a midge hood!

“If anyone knows whose it is I have it here safely if they decide they want it back. If however it was left for the faeries, I do apologize, but it was far to beautiful and precious to leave in the mud and rain! IDEAS ANYONE????!!!!"

According to Rachael the dress had been sitting outside for around four days now she is hoping it can be reunited with its owner….if she still wants it.

Rachael has appealed for locals to provide more information about the dress and promised the owner that it is in good hands.

She wrote: "I don't know whether to feel devastated for someone or not coz we just don't know why they would have left it under a rock on the side of the road! I decided I had to rescue it anyway, because regardless of the circumstances it represented something precious at some point......"
