A man has died after falling from a cliff at Loch Scavaig on the Isle of Skye.
The unidentified male was walking in the Elgol area when he fell down the steep drop on Wednesday 30 May.
The male casualty was picked up by Mallaig Lifeboat and transferred to Elgol Pier yesterday afternoon but later died.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency received the distress call at 12noon to reports of a man at the bottom of a cliff and the local lifeboat crew, including Portree Coastguard Rescue Team, Police Scotland and Coastguard search and rescue helicopters from both Stornoway and Inverness were dispatched to the scene.
A police spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a man has died after falling while walking in the Elgol area of the Isle of Skye.
“His next of kin are aware. Emergency services attended in the Camasunary Bay area after the incident was reported shortly before midday on Wednesday, May 30.”
