Sachin Tendulkar at Raasay House

So if you are a world renowned cricketer with millions of fans in your own country where do you go for a holiday…well, Raasay of course!

Over the last couple of week Sachin Tendulkar, hailed by many as one of the best batsmen of all time, has been staying on the island with his family.

The Tendulkars have been at Raasay House and while there Tendulkar has been letting his 11 million followers on Twitter know just how much he is enjoying his Highland surroundings.

Sachin, who is from Mumbai, began his long journey into the record books after he took up cricket at the age of 11, made his Test debut on 15 November 1989 against Pakistan in Karachi at the age of 16, and went on to represent Mumbai domestically and India internationally for close to 25 years.

On social media Raasay House commented: “He was happy to pose for photographs on our balcony and chat to our hardworking staff, so the famous batsman was a big hit with our team.

“We hope that we will be able to welcome the Tendulkar family back to Raasay again in the future.”
