Sea Cloud II

Portree RNLI were in action last night (July 27) to bring ashore an elderley lady in need of urgent medical attention.

Local crew members took their boat shortly before 5.30pm after a call from assistance from the 86 metre long pasenger cruise ship The Sea Cloud II.

On arrival in the middle of the Sound of Raasay they found that the 83 years old was suffering with chest pains and after placing her in a stretcher she was transferred to the lifeboat.

Leaving Sea Cloud II, which sails under the Maltese flag, behind the local crew, along with the woman's 60 year old daughter, returned to Portree where the patient was transferred to a waiting ambulance.
