UPDATE 16.30 12/03/18: No new information has been found on the vessel 'Hanson 2'.

Mallaig and Tobermory RNLI Lifeboats have carried out extensive searches of the area while HM Coastguard Coastal operations Centre Stornoway continued relay MayDay broadcasts to all vessels and carried out communications searches of local harbours and marina's.

Anyone with any information on this vessel is urged to please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

 

HM Coastguard is urgently appealing for information following a MAYDAY call received just before 1am this morning (Monday, March 12th).
The MayDay call was received on the west coast of Scotland, between Ullapool and Tobermory, and was sent from a vessel called ‘Hanson 2’ (spelling unclear).
Mallaig and Tobermory RNLI Lifeboats have now searched the area thoroughly for six hours with nothing found.
A number of relay broadcasts to vessels in the area have also been made with nothing seen or heard; and no other distress alerts have been received.
Anyone with any information on this vessel is urged to please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
