Staffin hall toilets will be open on Sundays for the first time.

The decision was made by Staffin Community Hall Association in response to increasing visitor numbers and a general lack of facilities.

After the Brogaig toilets were closed, Highland Council awarded the Comfort Grant to the hall to enable visitor facilities to continue to be provided.  Whilst the award covers some of the cost of running the toilets, it only runs April to September, Monday to Saturday.

The toilets are the only available ones on a Sunday between Portree and Uig on the eastern side of the Trotternish peninsula.

With the installation of new automatic doors, visitors will be able to access the facility, which will be unmanned, although the two associated businesses, Staffin Stores and Kilmartin Restaurant will continue to operate Monday to Saturday only.
