SNP MP Ian Blackford took to the floor at Westminster yesterday to firmly oppose the renewal of Trident on Scottish soil.
The member for Ross, Skye & Lochaber made his views clear as he addressed parliament during the debate over the issue.
Speaking on social media today, Mr Blackford said: “Last night I took part in the Westminster debate on the renewal of Trident. A debate which saw 58 of the 59
Scottish MP's oppose the signing of a blank cheque to replace these obscene weapons of mass destruction.
“When thousands of people in Scotland are struggling to cope with the effects of the austerity programme inflicted on them, by this Tory government.”
“We don't want Trident on our soil.”
