Peter and Alexandra with Skye MRT

So what do you do if you’re a stranded in thick mist and waiting to be rescued from a mountainside? How about proposing to a loved one!

For that’s just what happened on Skye earlier this week after two young Polish climbers sparked off a mountain rescue when they ran into difficulties while crossing Bealach na Glaic Moire.

For according to Skye Mountain Rescue Team by the time they eventually located the couple, Peter and Alexandra from Krakow they had not only managed to keep themselves safe and well but Peter had actually gone and proposed - and she had said yes!!!

Originally the couple had planned to walk from Glenbrittle to Coruisk but while they got lost on the way, at least they found the perfect way to pass the time. The pair were eventually located by the mountain rescue team after they blew whistles they were carrying to draw attention to themselves.
