Over 100 runners took to the mountains in the annual Glamaig Hill Race!

To race from the car park at Sligachan Hotel to the summit of Glamaig and back down again was the challenge that lay before the runners!  To see the full race results follow the link here

Finlay Wild took an early lead in the race, sprinting ahead over the old bridge.

Mr Wild emerged as victorious after crossing the line after an impressive 47 minutes and 17 seconds!

Second across the line was Brian Marshall of the Haddington Running Club, who finished the race in 56 minutes and 40 seconds.  He was closely followed by Alec Keith, who took third place with a time of 58 minutes and 7 seconds.

Amanda Blackhall from Lochaber AC was the first female runner to cross the line in 1 hour 12 minutes and 14 seconds.

Second place went to Joan Wilson of the Lomond Hill Runners, with a time of 1 hour 20 minutes and 36 seconds.

Kirsty Yoxon ran the race in 1 hour 23 minutes and 4 seconds to earn third place.

After a bright start to the day, the mountain became increasingly enshrouded in mist.  The weather deterred neither the runners nor the spectators, who lined the roads to cheer on the racers!

The race, which consists of a gruelling two miles of moorland at the foot of the mountain, followed by an incline of 2,817 feet to the summit, took its toll on the runners.

Muddied but happy, the runners relaxed in the knowledge that they had completed the challenge!
