On Scottish exam results day, 8th August, no matter the outcome of your exams, you'll have a lot of fantastic options to help you move forward.
Whether you got the results you had always dreamed of, or you didn’t get the results you had hoped for, it’s not the end of the world.
Along with other regional DYW groups, Developing the Young Workforce West Highland, are following Glasgow’s brainchild of promoting the message that there are many people in interesting job roles across Scotland that may not have taken a straight, obvious or traditional path to get there.
It will be natural to have mixed emotions about your exam results, so to celebrate the range and diversity of career paths that are followed leaving school.
We are encouraging people from a variety of sectors and professions to share a snippet of their story – what they did when they left school and where they are now.
You may be surprised to see where people were and what they have achieved to date. We want to convey a positive message that there are a range of ways to achieve success into a variety of career roles – and that there is #nowrongpath.
To share your path:
1. Write up a poster noting your name, what you did when you left school and what you are doing now.
2. Take a photo of yourself or your colleagues with your/their poster.
3. Post the photo on to social media by, 8th August, tag #nowrongpath and tag DYW West Highland.
4. Please nominate another person or business to do the same so there is hopefully a chain of individuals/businesses involved.
Camera shy? No problem! Your face doesn't have to be in the photo.
We look forward to seeing your path!
