Drugs with an estimated street value of £3,000 have been recovered by police officers in Skye.

The quantity of cannabis resin was recovered during a search of a house in Broadford on Thursday, July 27.

As a result, a 44-year-old local man was detained and further enquiries are to be conducted with a view to a report being submitted to the Procurator Fiscal at a later date.

Constable Cameron MacDonald, who led the operation said: "This search was made possible as a direct result of information obtained from the local community and the recovery should serve as a warning to those in the area intent on supplying drugs that we will continue to make Skye and Lochalsh a hostile environment for drug dealers."

Anyone with information in relation to drug dealers in the area is asked to contact the Police on 101 and ask to speak to a local officer or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800555111
