Four people from Flodigarry Hotel received an award for their heroism and bravery.

Elizabeth and Paulus Temming, owners of Flodigarry Hotel, along with their employees, Mark Thornber and Leon Passveer, were presented with a Society for the Protection of Life from Fire Award at Portree Police Officeon Friday 30 June.

A fire broke out on site in one of their co-worker's caravan, Darren Neville. Given the very remote location of the fire - and the severity of the fire and smoke - it's clear that the swift and brave actions of those involved in rescuing Darren undoubtedly saved his life.
