Co-Op Members will have a chance to support Kyle Lifeboat RNLI, thanks to the Co-Op Local Community Fund.

Co-Op Members in the local community can choose the Kyle RNLI as part of the scheme.

In 2015, the Kyle Lifeboat was launched 14 times and rescued a total of 11 people.  The RNLI receive no government funding and currently runs solely on public donations.

This fund would contribute towards the daily running of the lifeboat, its station and continued crew training which currently cost around £75,000 a year to maintain.

Every time members choose Co-op branded products and services and use their Co-op Membership card (subject to Membership T&Cs) 1% of what they spend will go to their chosen cause.

Members can change their choice at any time until the end of the giving period in September 2017.

If members don't pick a cause during the giving period, then their 1% is shared out equally between all the local causes in their community.

Any funds raised for the cause will be distributed shortly after the end of the giving period.
