So what did you do on your Isle of Skye holiday?

Walked on the beach?  Enjoyed the scenery?  Discovered a message in a bottle?

For Yorkshire-based Anne Turton, who visited the island earlier this month, the discovery of a message in a bottle gave her holiday an exciting twist.

Anne told The Skye Times: “I love beaches and I'm always looking for different pebbles.  We had gone for a walk and ended up at Lorgill Bay in Duirinish when we had a wander round and came across the bottle!  I'm naturally a curious person, so I opened the bottle and couldn't believe it when I found a message in it.”

The message was written by Morgan McGhee on Saturday 13 August 2016 in Belfast.  Morgan, based in Leven, Fife, also included a ticket from the Titanic Centre.

Anne said: “I did what the message asked and put it on Facebook.  I was the only one of the group who had an account – so, I had to learn how to share my post publicly!”  Anne's post has had almost 10,000 shares – and one of them reached Morgan's mum!

“I got a message from her, saying I had really made her day,” Anne revealed.  “I asked if she wanted me to send the message back and complete the circle, but she said I could keep it – so it went all the way back to Yorkshire with me!  It was a fantastic week's holiday and then finding that added a little extra to a great week.”
